Common Questions About CP322

How long does a direct deposit refund take?
Typically 1-5 business days from the date the IRS sends it. If it hasn't appeared after 5 days, check with your bank — the IRS cannot trace a direct deposit until 5 days after the scheduled deposit date.
What if my bank rejected the deposit?
The IRS will automatically convert the rejected deposit to a paper check and mail it to your address on file. You'll receive a CP53 notice informing you of the rejected deposit. Expect the check in 4-6 weeks.
