From Permission To A Useful Next Step.
Your Information. Your Permission.
Identify the tax matters and years to review. Complete the appropriate authorization through the firm’s secure process. Notice copies and permission to use an intermediate service provider are separate decisions.
A Signature Is The Beginning.
We verify the authorization’s covered periods, IRS access through the Centralized Authorization File (CAF), monitoring settings, alert routing and how to reach you. You receive confirmation when monitoring is active under an agreed engagement.
A Person Reads The Signal.
When available transcripts flag meaningful activity, our team reviews the change against the information in your file. A new account entry deserves context before anyone jumps to a conclusion.
Findings You Can Understand.
We explain the finding and whether a response is needed. If it calls for research, a notice response or representation, we define that additional work with you before proceeding.
A Watch On The Account. A Clear Scope For The Work.
Year-round IRS account monitoring can help you follow posted payments, adjustments and other significant activity within the authorized periods and available transcripts. The service combines the tool with professional review and client communication.
IRS Solutions supplies the software behind the service. Its published schedule describes weekly automated transcript checks and separate CAF approval checks Monday–Thursday. IRS access and system availability can affect what is retrieved. This is not real-time surveillance or a promise that every action will appear before a letter.

Keep the mail in the process. Forward every IRS letter promptly. Monitoring does not replace a notice, change its deadline, stop collection or automatically provide audit representation.
Covered periods, ongoing fees, review scope and communication arrangements are agreed before activation. This page does not offer a bundled audit-defense package or a free ongoing monitoring plan.
Clear Answers Before You Begin
Questions & Answers
Can This Reveal Activity Before A Letter Arrives?
Sometimes account activity can become visible before you receive related mail. That depends on IRS posting, transcript availability, the monitoring check and mail delivery. Monitoring cannot promise advance warning of every audit or IRS action. Always forward the actual notice and its deadline.
Does Form 8821 Let You Represent Me?
No. Form 8821 authorizes access to specified tax information. It does not grant representation authority. Representation requires appropriate separate authorization, such as Form 2848, and an agreed engagement.
What Happens When An Alert Appears?
Our team reviews the available transcript and relevant file information, compares the change with prior activity and contacts you with findings and any next step. Research, notice responses, appeals and representation are separately scoped; an alert does not automatically authorize that work.
How Often Are Transcripts Checked?
The IRS Solutions platform used behind this service describes automated transcript checks every week and separate CAF approval checks Monday through Thursday. These are software check schedules, not a promise of continuous coverage, immediate human review or a client response deadline. Access, covered periods and client contact arrangements must be confirmed in the engagement.
Does Signing Form 8821 Activate Monitoring?
No. The signed authorization, IRS submission, confirmed CAF access, configured monitoring and client contact arrangements are separate steps. We confirm activation after the required checks. Starting the consultation does not enroll you in monitoring.
Are Notice Copies And Software Access The Same Permission?
No. Form 8821’s notice-copy choice on line 2 and its Intermediate Service Provider consent on line 3 are separate. We review both choices with you before using the monitoring platform.
Does Monitoring Include Tax Preparation Or Audit Defense?
No automatic bundle is offered here. The monitoring scope, covered years, fees and communication arrangements must be agreed separately. Tax preparation, research, notice responses and representation require their own defined scope.
Must I Buy The Guide To Ask About Monitoring?
No purchase is required to start the free, self-guided tax consultation or request a review of whether monitoring fits your situation. The Guide helps you understand the planning, preparation and resolution process. Buying or registering it does not activate monitoring.
